A Russian fighter jet has carried out in Syria, the U.S. interception of tanker aircraft, which the Pentagon described as “unprofessional”. This was stated by commander of US air forces in the middle East and southwest Asia Lieutenant-General Jeffrey Harrigan during a briefing for journalists.
“There was an incident (in Syria), during which occurred the interception, which I would characterize as unprofessional. We contacted them (the Russian side) on this issue and expressed concern, they reacted normally, apologized for that particular interception”, – he said.
