The President of Russia Vladimir Putin on may 29, will visit France, where he will meet with his counterpart Emmanuel Macron. On Monday, may 22, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of the French leader.
It is noted that the meeting will be held in the Palace of Versailles.
On the eve of the official Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the “Interfax” information about the upcoming visit of Putin to France, but promised that “we will promptly make an announcement.”
The Agency said that the reason for Putin’s visit will be the opening exhibition at Versailles devoted to the 300th anniversary of the visit of the Russian Emperor Peter I in France, which marked the beginning of diplomatic relations between the countries.
The first telephone conversation between Putin and Macron took place on 18 may. The heads of state expressed readiness to develop friendly Russian-French relations in politics and economy, and also discussed the possibility of upcoming personal contacts.
