The lawyer said that Assange will try to get asylum in France

PARIS, may 19 — RIA Novosti, Victoria Ivanova. The lawyer of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange Juan Branco (Branco Juan) said that his client will seek asylum in France after the cessation of the Swedish prosecution authority investigation in the rape case on Friday, reports the portal France Info.

“He (Assange) will try to ask France to make such a gesture and to provide shelter in order to protect themselves from prosecution by the US against him”, — quotes the portal words Branco.

The human rights activist notes that “France will be responsible for the solution” for asylum for his client.

On Friday it became known that the Swedish prosecution authority discontinued the investigation into Assange, suspected of rape in 2010.

London police issued a statement in which he warned that if Assange leaves the Embassy, he gets arrested again. The reason for the arrest in London will be still a valid warrant issued by Westminster magistrates court after the founder of the controversial website 29 Jun 2012 refused to surrender to the court.
