In Estonia, the court sentenced a citizen to five years in prison for espionage

In Estonia Harju County court sentenced to five years in prison of Russian Artem Zinchenko for cooperation with the military intelligence of Russia.

The Prosecutor’s office in Estonia said that Zinchenko was recruited by the GRU in 2009 since 2013 and until his arrest, he was involved in tactical activities directed against the security of Estonia.

Its tasks included collecting information about objects of state security and the vital facilities in Estonia, he also allegedly collected data about the movement of military equipment of the Estonian defence Forces and allies throughout the country. Its task was also to find samples of military equipment, for example, means of communication. Collected data and samples Zinchenko passed the intelligence officers.

Zinchenko lived in Estonia since 2013, having a residence permit.
