Father Le Pen questioned her ability to lead France
MOSCOW, may 7 — RIA Novosti. Jean-Marie Le Pen, former leader of the National front, and father of the candidate for the French presidency, marine Le Pen, expressed doubt that his daughter was suited to the role of head of state. He told this in an interview with The Sunday Times, reports the Daily Mail.
“Her character is, that it does not hold. However, we need more quality,” he said.
Le Pen added that he was disappointed how his daughter held a debate with his rival from the movement “Forward!” Emmanuel Macron. According to him, it in vain “made it personal” to provide the competitor a psychological pressure.
The former head of the National front, also criticized marine Le Pen for what she had not turned to him for advice about its campaign.
According to Le pen, his granddaughter Marion Marechal-Le Pen is more suitable for the position of head of France. However, the former leader of the National front, admitted that he still wants marine Le Pen’s victory.
“I without doubt urge everybody to vote for marine Le Pen”, he said.
Earlier, Jean-Marie Le Pen has repeatedly spoken out in support of her daughter, despite the fact that relations between them remain cool with as long as she ruled the former head of the “National front” party.
