First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Franz Klintsevich believes that the monitoring of the demarcation of zones of de-escalation of the conflict in Syria can connect to international organizations including the UN.
“Much more complicated is the task associated with separation of the warring parties. What power should be used, with what mandate, what powers they’ll have… I Believe that this problem can be solved through collective efforts with the UN connection. There is, however, one caveat: the United States should at least not disturb”, — quotes RIA Novosti news of Klintsevich.
He also noted that the decision on the establishment of the Syrian areas of de-escalation is “the starting point, which allows to look optimistically into the future.”
3 and 4 may in Astana held talks on the settlement of the Syrian conflict, the results of which Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a Memorandum on creation of the so-called zones of de-escalation in Syria. Damascus supported the proposal.
