The guarantor countries of the process of the cease-fire in Syria have confirmed their participation in the third round of negotiations in Astana. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov, reports “Interfax”.
“We have received official communication from the Russian Federation, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, special representative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation will participate. Deputy of foreign Affairs of Turkey and Iran are claimed to participate. We expect confirmation from other participants of the meeting”, — said Abdrakhmanov.
As reported, the third round of talks on Syria scheduled in Astana on March 14-15.
As reminds Agency, on 11 March, the Syrian armed opposition has put forward a number of conditions for negotiations. In a statement, the military delegation of the revolutionary forces of Syria (Military Delegation of Syrian Revolution’s Forces) in the number of requests was called the postponement of the Astana talks, discussion document on the mechanism of the ceasefire that was agreed in Ankara before meeting in Astana.
On the same day the UN Security Council called on the parties to the Syrian conflict to continue negotiations in a constructive manner and without preconditions. The security Council recognized that the continuation of political negotiations became possible due to progress in Astana the agreement on a cease-fire.
