Russia has proposed to slow down the access to violate the laws of the foreign sites

The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) together with Roskomnadzor and several departments are developing a bill that would slow down access to foreign sites that violate the requirements of the Russian legislation. About this “Vedomosti” told the staff of Internet companies and government agencies.

According to the publication, in the spring, the legislation could be amended to allow a court decision to slow the speed of the connection sites not performing Russian laws. This rule will apply not only to foreign resources.

The sources of “Vedomosti” noted that the initiative is in the final stages of negotiation, including in the presidential administration, and the likelihood of any bill for consideration is very large.

The reason for the development of the document was a multiple failure of Facebook and Twitter to remove the unlawful content under the court decision, and eternal lock-in Russia social network LinkedIn whose administration also did not eliminate the violations of Russian legislation.

LinkedIn blocked in Russia from November 2016. The Moscow city court has satisfied the requirement of Roskomnadzor, to restrict access to the social network, because it is not moved the servers to Russia, and also illegally collect and transmit information about citizens who are not users.
