Political scientist Byshok: the fate of Sapieha will not become a subject of bargaining between Russia and Belarus between Minsk and Moscow. This opinion was expressed by the executive director of the international monitoring organization CIS-EMO Stanislav Byshok in an interview with “Lenta.ru”

Byshok believes that such an accusation creates a consensus between the security officials of the two countries about the need for punishment for Sapieha. “They believe that such people should be crushed and punished as severely and demonstratively as possible,” the expert says. The political scientist sees no reason to demand the extradition of Sapieha to serve his sentence in Russia from the Russian power bloc.
“General humanistic people have the opinion that Sapega should at least be in Russia. But it is not general humanistic people who make decisions on such political prisoners, “Byshok emphasized.
Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Belarus, Dmitry Gora, said that Sapega had been finally charged under a number of articles. In particular, she is charged with inciting social hatred and discord, threats against law enforcement officers and the commission of crimes against information security.
Sofya Sapega was detained on May 23 along with the creator of the NEXTA Telegram channel Roman Protasevich after an emergency landing in at the Minsk airport of the Ryanair plane, on which they flew from Athens to Vilnius. On camera, the girl admitted that she allegedly ran a Telegram channel in which the data of the Belarusian security forces were published.
