The first festival of the national book of Russia will be held in Dagestan in December This is reported by TASS with reference to the Ministry of Culture of the republic.
As explained in the department, the event will be held in Makhachkala from 9 to 11 December in conjunction with the book fair “Tarki-Tau”, which has been held in the region since 2012. It is expected that it will be attended by representatives of the leadership of the Association of Russian Book Publishers, the Council of National Book Publishing, the Writers' Union of Russia, the Russian Book Chamber, as well as various Russian publishing houses.
As planned by the organizers, the festival will be divided into several thematic blocks. All publishing houses and bookselling organizations operating in Dagestan are planning to take part in it.
In October it was reported that since the beginning of the year, the Center for the Study of Native Languages at the Dagestan State University presented four books in national languages. In just five years of its existence, the Center for the Study of Native Languages has published 27 books.
