It is known that the incident took place in the city of Ganj Basoda, Vidisha district. In total, hundreds of members of radical groups and local residents aggressively disposed towards Christians took part in the attack. According to the TV channel, the reason for the attack was rumors on social networks that missionaries were baptizing local children at St. Joseph's School.
The headmaster had previously denied this information. However, this did not deter the religious Hindu activists. They gathered hundreds of people in front of the school doors and started throwing stones at it. Afterwards, angry people broke into the school building. Teachers and students barely escaped the crowd.
The headmaster accused the local administration and police of inaction. In response, the authorities promised to conduct an investigation. According to local media reports, the Bajrang Dal ultra-right pro-Indian group is behind the attack on the missionary school.
