The United States named the decision makers on Ukraine's membership in NATO

White House on Ukraine's accession to NATO: decisions on membership are made by the alliance, not by the Russian Federation

The decision on NATO membership countries, in particular Ukraine, are taken by the alliance itself, not Russia. This was stated by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki, her words are quoted by TASS.

Thus, she commented on the statements about the inadmissibility of the country's entry into NATO. “The question of who is a member of the alliance is decided by the NATO countries, not Russia,” Psaki emphasized.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine's accession to NATO would become a “red line” for Moscow. She stressed that such actions of the alliance destabilize the military-political situation in Europe.
