Macron announced the reform of the Schengen area

“During this presidency, we will initiate a reform of the Schengen area around & nbsp; two priorities. The first & nbsp; & mdash; this is the introduction of the political administration of Schengen, as we & nbsp; did it with the & nbsp; euro area & raquo;, & nbsp; & mdash; noted Macron.

The second priority of the French President called the creation of a mechanism for emergency assistance to border countries in crisis situations. According to & nbsp; he said, another key element is the development of defense policy. In addition, the French leader pointed out that the & nbsp; creation of a common strategy “ in the & nbsp; world of threats and & nbsp; risks '' is also significant.

The French presidency of the & nbsp; Council & nbsp; EU for a period of & nbsp; six months will begin with & nbsp; 1 & nbsp; ; January 2022.

Earlier, on November 12 & nbsp; Minister of Justice and Police of Switzerland Karin Keller-Sutter spoke out against the distribution of refugees among the Schengen countries who arrived at the & nbsp; Polish-Belarusian border. These visas are issued in the & nbsp; case of an “ individual threat to life and & nbsp; health '' and & nbsp; given the & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; applicant's “ connection with & nbsp; Switzerland '', the minister added.

In & nbsp; June, the European Commissioner for & nbsp; Internal Affairs Ilva Johansson said that & nbsp; all EU countries are required to enter Schedule will meet the criteria. According to & nbsp; she said, & nbsp; Bulgaria, Romania and & nbsp; will soon become full members of the Schengen area.

The Schengen rules imply the elimination of border controls on the & nbsp; internal borders between states that have entered this zone, and & nbsp; strengthening border controls with & nbsp; third states bordering the & nbsp; zone.
