Deripaska urged to abandon manic passion for strengthening the ruble

Deripaska criticized the Central Bank for its maniacal passion for strengthening the ruble and fighting inflation he described it as “a manic passion for strengthening the ruble.” In his Telegram channel, he stressed that the policy of the Bank of Russia is a mystery to everyone in the world.

The businessman urged the State Duma and the Federation Council to ensure that the regulator does not refuse to assist in the development of the economy and does not try to fight against inflation through imports. Deripaska also does not like excessive regulation by the Central Bank, since such actions also stop the economic growth and development of the country.

In his opinion, the next sanctions threats from American “politicians, officials, mad senators, even slightly jerk [White House spokesman Jen] Psaki “look humiliating.

Against this background, Deripaska is sure, the Central Bank should accelerate the creation of a sovereign settlement system based on the digital ruble, its own debt market, since the European and global ones are practically closed.

Earlier, the businessman has already called for expanding the mandate of the Central Bank to be responsible for economic growth in the country. And immediately after the elections to the State Duma in September of this year, he asked the deputies to fight the regulator and not allow themselves to be fooled.

Deripaska's appeals are not working to date. After the elections to the State Duma, the Central Bank raised the rate to 7.5 percent, however, according to experts, by the New Year it could reach 8.5 percent. The reason for this will remain the record inflation in recent years.
