Head of RDIF Dmitriev: WHO does not approve Sputnik V due to bureaucratic obstacles

Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev said the World Health Organization (WHO) is delaying approval of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V solely due to bureaucratic obstacles. He said this in an interview for La Nacion.

According to him, Moscow sees no particular reason why WHO is hesitant to recognize the drug, since the effectiveness of Sputnik V has been confirmed by publications in reputable medical journals and real data from all over the world.

“The Russian Ministry of Health maintains close ties with WHO, and we understand that there are still small obstacles in our way, but they are exclusively bureaucratic,” he said. p>
