Iron Mountain Incorporated: a quarter of company employees fell victim to phishing

Analysts interviewed 11,000 employees of firms from ten European countries, including Russia. It found that 34 percent of respondents use the same password on multiple platforms, and 27 percent of those surveyed forget to close their laptop when leaving their workplace. Another 24 percent use public Wi-Fi, 18 percent keep a note with their password on their desk, 11 percent of respondents said they leave documents with sensitive data in a visible place.

According to the study, a quarter of respondents were victims of fraud or phishing.

Vyacheslav Burov, R&D Director of the corporate and confidential data management company OSG Records Management in Russia and the CIS, said that you can also become a victim of a fraudster if you click on unconfirmed links or open letters from unknown sources.

Earlier it was reported that in the third quarter of 2021, the total number of DDoS attacks increased by almost a quarter (24 percent) compared to the same period last year. The company notes that the number of advanced attacks, which are most often directed against a specific company, has also increased (by 31 percent). One of the August days completely broke the record of the last few years for the number of attacks per day – 8,825 cyber attacks.
