WASHINGTON, June 27. /TASS/. The us government sees signs of a potential training of the authorities in Damascus to a new use of chemical weapons in Syria. This statement is contained in a statement on Monday evening, a written statement by the press Secretary of the White house Sean Spicer.
“The United States has identified potential training regime [Bashar al -] Assad for another attack using chemical weapons, which probably would have turned into the mass murder of innocent civilians, including children. This activity is similar to preparations made by the regime in anticipation of its chemical attack April 4, 2017”, — stated in the document.
Spicer also said that the U.S. Armed forces operate in Syria only in order to destroy the banned terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG). “However, if Mr. Assad will carry out another mass murder using chemical weapons, he and his Armed forces will pay a high price”, — said official representative of the President of the United States.
The Syrian government denied any involvement in the use of chemical warfare agents. Meanwhile, as emphasized by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, speaking on 2 June at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF), Moscow absolutely convinced that Damascus did not use chemical weapons.
