The business Council of Russia and the United States announced a reception in honor of the resignation of Kislyak

American-Russian business Council announced a “farewell reception” on the occasion of the alleged resignation of the Russian Ambassador to the USA Sergey Kislyak. This is stated on the website of the Council.

The reception will take place on July 11 at St. Regis in Washington.

“Ambassador Kislyak, who served as the Russian diplomatic representative since 2008, was reliable and attentive companion for members of the American business community”, — said the representatives of the organization.

About the possible dismissal of the Ambassador on 25 June it was announced by the former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul. “I wish him all the best. When I was in the civil service, to work with him was a pleasure, although we have differing views,” he said in his Twitter.

The media learned about the plans of Russia to nominate Kislyak to a new position in the UN.

However, the spokesperson of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova called the statement of McFaul, “the phantom pain”. She stressed that the issue of resignation of the members of the diplomatic corps can be solved only by the Russian leadership.

In early February, the newspaper “Kommersant” with reference to sources reported that the new Russian Ambassador to US Kislyak, in return, may become a Deputy foreign Minister Anatoly Antonov. The source of RBC in may also confirmed that the candidacy of Antonova were proposed for consideration by the state Duma. In the Kremlin to comment on these reports declined.
