The most typical characteristics of Russian youth are sociability, neatness and love of the sport. This is evidenced by data survey of the national center for the study of public opinion (VTSIOM), published on the website of the organization.
While respondents older than 60 years were more likely to attribute young people the friendliness (59 per cent), helpfulness (56%), unselfishness (47 percent), while the identity of the youth of these characteristics are not determinative.
While citizens aged 18-24 years most often characterize themselves as sociable (82%), oriented to material values (72 percent), sport loving (68%) active (62%) and cynical (56 percent).
The majority of respondents of all ages say law-abiding young people, a positive attitude to the Russian authorities and the lack of interest in politics.
“Intergenerational conflict, characteristic of the 1990s is gone. Today the older generation is better than before, assessing the youth. The young people themselves become more attentive to their health, exercising more, being more sympathetic and friendly”, — commented the General Director of the Fund VTSIOM Konstantin Abramov.
The survey was conducted June 20-21. It was attended by 1,200 people. The statistical error does not exceed 3.5%.
