MOSCOW, June 27. /TASS/. The chief of the General staff Valery Gerasimov and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed on the base Hamim coordination of efforts against banned terrorist groups “Islamic state” (IG) and “jabhat an-Nusra.” On Tuesday said the Russian defense Ministry.
“The chief of the General staff of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, army General Valery Gerasimov during a working trip to Syria met with the Russian arrived at the base Hamim President Bashar al-Assad. In the course of joint work were discussed issues on coordination of Syrian government troops, supported by aircraft of Russian air force against international terrorist groups ISIS (the old name of the “Islamic state” – approx. TASS) and “Dzhebhat EN-Nusra” in Syria”, – is spoken in the message.
The defense Ministry added that during a short tour of a Russian airbase Hamim al-Assad reviewed with the Russian su-35 and other advanced weapons.
