In the state Duma explained the desire of Kiev to impose martial law in the Donbass

Ruslan Balbec

The desire of Kiev to impose martial law in Donbass confirmed that the Ukrainian authorities recognize the conflict in that territory in civil, said the Deputy of the state Duma Ruslan Balbec. His assessment he shared in an interview with “Tape.ru” on Monday, June 19.

“In Kiev, rubbed his eyes and saw that the country’s civil war. In addition, the Ukrainian elite is trying to show the world that the conflict is geographically limited and does not cover the entire territory of the state”, — said the MP.

He stressed that if Kiev did not recognize the internal confrontation, the martial law declared throughout the country.

Earlier on Monday, the newspaper “Kommersant” reported that the Ukrainian authorities intend to abandon the anti-terrorist operation in the South-East of the country and to introduce in some areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions martial law. It can be set in the framework of the draft law on the reintegration of Donbass, which the national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC) plans to consider in the near future. According to the Ukrainian opposition, this initiative will allow Kiev to cut off the Donbass population from the electoral process in the country.

A member of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Anton Morozov (LDPR) believes that the Ukrainian authorities are thus trying to obtain concessions from the West.

Kiev has repeatedly accused Moscow of involvement in military actions in the Donbass. Moscow denies all the accusations and emphasizes that it is not a party to domestic conflict.
