The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow is concerned about the situation in which the new US administration continues to withdraw from the blow of the terrorist group “Jabhat EN-Nusra”*.

The Minister noted that the situation around the fight against “al-Nusra Dzhabhat” remains “a great mystery”.

“Because, despite all legal requirements, based on the fact that “dzhebhat an-Nusra” is included as a branch of “al-Qaeda”* the terrorist list of the UN security Council terrorist list of the USA and many other Western countries, as, in fact, in Russia it is made, but in practice the fight against ISIS* — Yes, we see the struggle with “an-Nusra” and the structures are mixed up, we almost do not see,” — Lavrov said at a press conference.

He noted that the new US administration in this matter behaves like the previous one.

“In this sense, the coalition headed by the USA, behaves exactly the same way as behaved during the administration of President Obama: “Dzhabhat EN-Nusra” in every way withdrawn from the blow. This is a very disturbing topic, we regularly put this issue in contacts with our American partners, no clear answer received. But I would like,” added the Minister.

Earlier, Lavrov said that the disengagement opposition groups with the militants “Jabhat EN-Nusra” in Syria in the framework of the Astana process becomes possible.

* “Dzhabhat EN-Nusra”, “al-Qaeda” and “Islamic state” (ISIS) is a terrorist group banned in Russia.
