In the state Duma Committee on defence has not received a bill to increase the lower threshold of service years to qualify for the military retirement. About this TASS said the head of the Committee Vladimir Shamanov.
Earlier, on 15 June, “Kommersant” published an article that speaks of the impending increase from 20 to 25 years the minimum period of service of a serviceman, needed for calculation of his pension. In this regard, the Executive is to submit to Parliament amendments to the law on pension support of servicemen.
The newspaper’s sources in the government and the presidential administration noted that the bill is problematic and carries with it considerable risks, but the potential to save the budget several hundred billion rubles per year (up to 350-400 billion according to the newspaper).
The bill, writes “Kommersant”, is supposed to refer to the period after the presidential elections in 2018.
On the right of the line, held on June 15, President Vladimir Putin also stressed that we should consider raising the limit ages of stay on military service for officers.
