Washington belatedly congratulated Russians on Day of Russia

U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson on Thursday, June 15, has congratulated Russians on Day of Russia, celebrated June 12.

Tillerson’s statement is published on the website of the US state Department.

“On behalf of the President (Donald) trump and the American people, I congratulate the Russian people on the occasion of Russia Day this year,” — said in a statement.

Tillerson said that “relations between the US and Russia date back to the early days of our (the us — approx. “Of the tape.ru”) of the Republic.”

“Today our countries share a unique responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and stability and cooperate on issues of global importance. We believe that we have it does best at a time when we are together supported the fundamental values of human dignity and freedom”, — said the head of the American foreign Ministry.

“While you are celebrating the Day of Russia, know that the United States together with you to honor your independence as a country rich in traditions and opportunities,” added Tillerson.
