In the Kremlin commented on Russia’s recent protests

Protests do not pose a risk for the Kremlin, however, provocative actions in the disputed rallies are a threat to citizens. On Tuesday, June 13, said the press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, reports the correspondent of”.ru”.

“Holding such events in a coordinated manner, as required by law or for whom no danger is. (…) This is a normal process, when people occupy a civil position,” — said Peskov, commenting on the publication in the Western media about the danger to the Russian authorities of the protests which took place on 12 June in Russia.

However, he explained that threat are “provocative manifestations of” that threatens the surrounding community. “And yesterday in Moscow, when tens of thousands of people celebrated the national day of our country, that this group of provocateurs, in fact, their actions carried a risk for citizens”, — said the press Secretary, adding that such persons “law enforcement agencies are taking necessary actions”.

Earlier on Tuesday, the press Secretary of the White house Sean Spicer said that the United States authorities condemned “the detention of hundreds of peaceful protesters across Russia”, stressing that it is contrary to fundamental democratic values. He also stressed that Washington will monitor the situation and urged the Russian government to immediately release all the detainees.

June 12, the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk said that last on Tverskaya street in Moscow in an unsanctioned rally were detained 150 people. In total, an unauthorized event involved about 4,5 thousand people, according to estimates of the municipality — not more than five thousand.

Agreed with the authorities of the rally was to be held on Sakharov Avenue (the result came back 1.8 thousand people). However, on the night of June 12, the opposition leader Alexei Navalny urged his supporters to go out on Tverskaya, a part of which has been blocked off and made pedestrian for holding of festive events dedicated to the Day of Russia. The politician did not participate in the demonstrations, as he was detained in his house.

In addition, on June 12 anti-corruption rallies were held in dozens of cities across the country.
