Latvian tennis player Elena Ostapenko won the “Roland Garros”-2017 in the women’s singles category, shows a Soviet style of play. This opinion was expressed by the President of the Russian tennis Federation (OFWs) Shamil Tarpischev, his words leads TASS.
“I’m glad for Ostapenko, which due to speed won the final. Played my game from start to finish, and Halep lost herself in the second set. We know Ostapenko. Even since childhood. Of course the school and the style of play she our Soviet”, — said Tarpischev.
Earlier, on 10 June win in three sets defeated the representative of Romania Simona Halep in the final of the “Roland Garros” — 4:6, 6:4, 6:3. 20-summer athlete became the first Latvian winner of the Open championship of France.
