The former head of the FBI: a message in the American media about Russia is completely wrong
James Komi said that news reports based on leaks of classified information about the investigation in Russia, largely erroneous.
WASHINGTON, June 8. /Offset. TASS Anton Cranks/. Ex-FBI Director James Comey said that many of the materials about Russia, published in the American media, is completely wrong. The confidence he expressed in the hearings before the special Committee on intelligence of the Senate of the U.S. Congress.
“There were many, many posts (in press — approx. TASS), a lot of things about Russia, that is absolutely untrue,” — he said, repeatedly stressing that news stories based on leaks of classified information about the investigation in Russia, largely erroneous.
Komi Republic believes that the sources of the media — “people who often say this (intelligence — approx. TASS), but often don’t even know what’s really going on”. “Those of us who know what’s going on just don’t talk about it, we are not calling the media to say, “Hey, you made a mistake in this sensitive subject.” We’ll just leave it like it is”, — he explained.
While Komi said that his statement at the hearing shall not hinder the FBI investigation.
