ASTANA, 8 June. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the upcoming visit of Chinese President XI Jinping in Moscow the main event in relations between the two countries this year.
“We are now preparing the main event in bilateral relations (Russia and China) – your visit to Russia”, – he said at a meeting with the Chinese leader.
Putin noted that recently hosted in Moscow, Chinese foreign Minister Wang Yi, who together with his colleagues from Russia were engaged in the preparation of Chinese President’s visit to Moscow. Putin expressed confidence that this visit will become “a significant and major event in the bilateral relations”.
He added that he would like to use the meeting for discussions on the bilateral agenda and international issues.
Chinese President XI Jinping wished Russia to achieve new success under a strong leadership of Vladimir Putin.
“I sincerely wish that under your strong-willed leadership, Russia has achieved new success in the way of national development and revival”, – he stressed.
The Chinese leader stated that is conducting this year a lot of meetings with Putin. “This shows that Sino-Russian relations today are at a high level and are strategic in nature and stability,” – said XI Jinping. “Against the backdrop of a complex international situation is very good our relations are developing. Our interaction and mutual support are of great importance for peace on a global scale,” – said the Chairman of the PRC.
