The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko sent a letter to the speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani in which he expressed confidence that the involved in the terrorist attack in Tehran would be punished. It is reported RIA Novosti on Wednesday, 7 June.
“Strongly condemning this monstrous crime are firmly convinced that the terrorists will not succeed to intimidate the Iranian people, and the perpetrators and masterminds of this crime will not be able to leave from punishment”, — the telegram says.
She stressed that the actions of the terrorists, “shaking his cynicism and cruelty.” The Federation Council speaker expressed his sincere condolences in connection with tragedy “in the heart of the capital of Iran.”
On the morning of Wednesday, 7 June, Tehran was a double terrorist attack. Militants attacked the Parliament building and the mausoleum of the first Supreme leader — Ayatollah Khomeini. According to preliminary data, the victims of the attack became 12 people, 39 were injured. Responsibility for attack was assumed by the terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia).
