BRUSSELS, 7 June. /Offset. TASS Denis Dubrovin/. The accession of Montenegro to NATO creates dividing lines in the Balkans and complicate relations of this country with Russia. This was the reaction of the permanent mission of Russia to NATO to the ceremony of raising the flag of Montenegro in the headquarters of NATO in Brussels.

“A weak argument that the membership of Montenegro in NATO is a good thing for stability in the Western Balkans. On the contrary, it creates new dividing lines and reminds of old wounds,” – said the permanent representative of the Russian Federation on Twitter.
