The President of Russia Vladimir Putin met with the former assistant to the President for national security Lieutenant-General in the resignation of Michael Flynn, but was not acquainted with him. The head of the Russian state said in an interview with NBC, a fragment of which is posted on the website of the American television.
Putin asked to explain how the year before, Flynn was sitting at one with the Russian President at reception in honor of the Russia Today TV (RT). According to the Russian leader when he arrived at the event, at the table sat next to a gentleman. “I gave a speech, and then we talked, then I got up and went away,” said Putin, adding that later he was informed that it was the American who formerly worked in the intelligence services.
The President of the Russian Federation stated that did not really have time to talk to this man. Putin for comparing said unlike Flynn’s “better acquainted” with broadcaster NBC Megyn Kelly, who interviewed the Russian leader and talked with him for two days at the St. Petersburg international economic forum.
Flynn has held the position of assistant for national security the current President of the United States in January of this year. However, on 13 February, he was forced to resign due to the fact that not fully informed Vice President Michael Pence about his contacts with the Russian Ambassador in Washington Sergei Kislyak. Politico magazine reported, citing unnamed sources in the White house that trump now regret the decision to dismiss Flynn and considers their actions wrong.
