Director Isaac urgently looking for a replacement

St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko instructed to change the acting Director of the Museum “St. Isaac’s Cathedral” Irada, Vovnenko at the man. This was reported by “Fontanka” with reference to unnamed sources in the city government.

According to one of interlocutors of the edition, in Smolny believe that “the item can only lead a man.” The new head of the Museum shall appoint within several days.

44-year-old Vovnenko became acting Director of St. Isaac’s Cathedral on may 31, but the next day, June 1, received a decree about its replacement. The contract of her predecessor, Nikolai Burov will expire on June 5 but he decided to leave early amid the scandal with the transfer of the Museum of the ROC.

Vovnenko, was born in Leningrad and graduated from the Department of Russian art history Institute of culture (Spbguki) and German Philology Department St. Petersburg state University. For some time she worked at the German Department of the University. In 2003, Vovnenko became the main expert of the state Museum-preserve “Tsarskoye Selo”, she participated in the restoration of the Amber room. Then she was promoted to Deputy Director of public relations St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Since 2006, Vovnenko wrote 13 books, including works for children and romance novels. She also became the co-author Janusz Leon Vishnevsky. Together they wrote the novel “Love and other dissonances”.

After it became known about the appointment of Vovnenko, users of social networks began to discuss her literary work and to quote her book (“a question of cheekbones, “skirt and lace piece of lingerie was thrown back”, “took possession of the foot in an expensive pedicure”, etc.).
