In Kiev announced the adoption of the ECHR lawsuit against Russia for the Crimea

Moscow. June 1. INTERFAX.RU — the European court of human rights acknowledged the admissibility of the first claim of Ukraine against Russia for actions in Crimea in 2014, in particular, on the facts of human rights violations on the Peninsula, said the Minister of justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko.

“We announced that the legal position with evidence, facts, which of course refute the false comments of the Russian Federation about the fact that the European court has no right and jurisdiction to hear the first case. The ECHR has officially confirmed the adoption of our legal position in the first case “against Ukraine” on the facts of human rights violations in Crimea,” Petrenko said Thursday in Kiev.

He reminded that on March 27 of this year, Ukraine sent a package of documents with the legal position of refuting the arguments of the Russian Federation.

“A week ago, the ECHR officially sent confirmation of the acceptance of this legal position,” — said the Minister.

In February it became known that Ukraine intends to apply to the ECHR in a total of six lawsuits. Five claims to Russia concerning events in the Crimea and the Donbass has already been referred to the European court. The Ministry of justice of Ukraine stated that the sixth complaint to the ECHR for human rights violations in the Donbas and the Crimea in 2015-2016.
