The government obliged state-owned companies to buy Russian planes
MOSCOW, may 30 — RIA Novosti. The Russian government ordered its representatives in the boards of Directors of state-owned companies to initiate consideration of the purchase or leasing of Russian aircraft, the directives state representatives, a copy of which is available to RIA Novosti.
It is noted that this Directive does not concern the airline “Aeroflot”, State transport leasing company “VTB-Leasing”.
“In considering this question the representatives of the interests of the Russian Federation in boards of Directors (Supervisory boards) of joint-stock companies are obliged to vote “for” the adoption of solutions involving if necessary the acquisition in 2017 or lease beginning in 2019… only aircraft of domestic production”, — the document says.
The exemptions apply to turbojet aircraft at a maximum takeoff weight of less than 3.8 thousand kg and a flight range of more than 5 thousand kilometers, and with a maximum takeoff weight of more than 38 thousand kg and a flight range of over 12 thousand kilometers.
Thus, this initiative will not affect the number of foreign aircraft business class: for example, the Gulfstream G650 has a maximum takeoff weight of 45.2 thousand pounds and has a range of about 13 thousand kilometers.
