Tomsk geologists found in Khakassia changing the composition of the lake-chameleon
Moscow. May 29. INTERFAX.RU Scientists geological-geographical faculty (GGF) Tomsk state University (TSU) in the study of Melt lakes in the Republic of Khakassia have found its salts unique ability to change its structure depending on time of year, the press service of the University on Monday.
“Salt lake Melt changes its mineralogical composition depending on the time of year: in summer water is present in the sulfate — thenardier, and in the winter — water sulfate salts, known in medicine as Glauber’s salt. Apparently, Snow lake is one of a kind natural factory salts — saline lake has healing properties”, — quotes the press service of GGF TSU graduate student Maria Ivanova.
In addition, the researchers found in the water of Melted snow lake, a small excess of uranium, which may indicate the possibility of finding uranium deposits in adjacent areas.
The concentration of lithium and strontium, which have attracted scientists, proved insufficient for commercial production.
It is noted that to the geologists asked the producers of mineral water from the Republic of Khakassia with a request to investigate the water of the lake from the point of view of its medicinal properties, it is expected that this will take scientists GGF TSU.
Melt the lake — first place in salt production in Western and Central Siberia, mineral raw materials they began to produce in the late nineteenth century. Abakan salt plant, which was carried out processing, was one of the suppliers of salt to the Royal court.
