Group of companies “Tashir” has finished the transaction on purchase of the old building of the newspaper “Izvestia” on Pushkin square and started to rebuild. This is reported by RIA “Novosti”.
From the editorial office will make a multifunctional complex with a hotel for 250 rooms, space for offices, cafés and shops, told the news Agency. The facade of the building will be fully preserved.
The editors of the “News” is partially moved from the building on Pushkin square to a new office on 5th street Yamskogo polya in 2011.
The building of “Izvestia” — the most significant work of Grigory Barkhin, the founder of the whole dynasty of architects. It was designed in 1925 and completed in 1927. In 1975 by architect Yuri Sheverdyaeva, near it was built a new building of “Izvestia”. In early 2017 it was restored by the company Alexey Ginzburg, grandson Barkhin.
