To Moscow brought the relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker
MOSCOW, may 21 — RIA Novosti. The relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, who for the first time in 930 years left of the papal Basilica of the Italian city of Bari, delivered a special flight to Moscow.
Faithful of the Moscow parishes gathered at the airport “Vnukovo” to meet the Shrine. Some in the hands of the flowers and icons depicting the Saint. The congregation prayers are read and hymns are Holy.
On the tarmac the relics of Saint Nicholas are greeted by the honor guard and clergy. Upon arrival, Metropolitan Arseny of Istra will serve a moleben to the Saint at the ramp.
In the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, where the relics will be delivered to the evening service directly from the airport “Vnukovo”, the Shrine was solemnly conveyed to Patriarch Kirill.
The agreement on the part of the bringing of the relics of St. Nicholas was reached at the historic meeting of Patriarch Kirill with Pope Francis February 12, 2016. Until 12 July the relics will be placed in Moscow, and from 13 July to 28 July, they will be held in Saint-Petersburg.
