The state Duma Committee on international Affairs has supported the appointment of the head of the Department of the Situational crisis center (DSCC) of the MFA of Russia Alexei Erchov for the post of Ambassador of Russia in Turkey. On Thursday, may 18, reports TASS citing a source familiar with the private session of the Committee.
Erchov previously served as the Consul General of Russia in Istanbul, noted on the website of the Embassy.
Candidate Erchova has yet to be endorsed at the plenary meeting of the state Duma.
