Ruslan Balyberdina: Poroshenko remembered the Minsk agreements, after the words about sending tanks to the Donbass
State Duma Deputy Ruslan Balbec chided Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that he sends to Donbas “war hawks” and not “peace doves”. So he commented in an interview with RIA Novosti news Agency the statement of the Ukrainian leader that the South-East of the Republic it is directed to “another batch of handsome T-80 tanks”.
“Public bragging about sending modernized tanks T-80 in the area of civil military conflict means that the word “arms and the victims,” the Ukrainian President is warming to the soul”, — said the MP.
He also called the T-80 is a formidable weapon in the hands of experts and expressed confidence that Kyiv wants to “crush the resistance of the militia of the massive blow of the armored vehicles.”
Earlier on may 20 Poroshenko on his page in Facebook reported that to the front in the Donbass sent a party T-80. How many combat vehicles will be deployed to the frontline, and when they arrive, the President said.
In January the head of state urged the government to focus on the modernization of old tanks in the formation of the defense order. He explained that the construction of a new battle tank “Oplot” takes 18 months, and the improvement and overhaul of the T-64 and T-80 — 2.5 months. “Thus, the question arises: tank company at full strength or one tank,” said he.
The armed conflict in the Donbass lasts from spring 2014. In February 2015, was signed with the Minsk agreement, providing for the introduction of ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons, the holding of elections in the Donbass, and the legislative recognition of the special status of the region. However, the agreement has been repeatedly violated.
