The contractor building the stadium “Saint Petersburg” arrested for 2 months on charges of bribery
Basil Slivkina was detained in Moscow in may 2016 in the case of the kidnapping of more than 350 million rubles for the execution of contracts for the supply of lighting and electrical equipment for the stadium.
ST. PETERSBURG, may 18. /TASS/. The court arrested for two months Director of the company SAM-5 Basil Slivkina, contractor for construction of the stadium “Saint-Petersburg” (“Zenit-arena”) in the case of the bribe of 20 million rubles to the former Vice-Governor of the city Marat Hovhannisyan. This reports the press service of the St. Petersburg city court.
“Oktyabrsky district court ordered the remand in custody in respect of Slivkina for two months,” — said in court.
Slivkina, who on may 17 was the deadline for detention in the case of fraud, immediately after release from prison arrested on a new criminal case by the police. He was arrested in Moscow in may 2016 in the case of the kidnapping of more than 350 million rubles for the execution of contracts for the supply of lighting and electrical equipment for the stadium.
In early may, the Investigative Committee informed on excitation of new criminal case. Its defendants are the General Director of “Stroyelektromontazh-5” (SAM-5) slifkin, who is suspected of bribery, his Deputy Cyril Slivkin and chief economist Nicholas Khripunov.
According to investigators, as Vice-Governor in charge of the execution of the contract for works on architectural lighting and outdoor stadium lighting, Hovhannisyan received from the head of SEM-5 through intermediaries Khripunova Slivkina and a bribe of 20 million rubles for ensuring the conclusion of the contract with the company. On may 6, the court arrested Khripunova and Cyril Slivkina for two months.
The Case Of Hovhannisyan
Former Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg is also currently in custody, arrest him extended to Aug. He was arrested on November 16 last year in Moscow, the next day the former official was charged under the article “Fraud”.
The investigation established the fact of theft in 2014, more than 50 million rubles at the conclusion of the General contractor of the stadium, ZAO Transstroy, an agreement with the company “TDM” (Theatre-decorative workshops) for the supply table for the “Zenit-Arena”.
In case there are several defendants, including the former Deputy Chairman of the construction Committee of St. Petersburg Alexander Ancic and employees of the company “TDM”, which is associated with the Director of the Alexandrinsky theatre Grigory Popov.
In March 2017, the Investigative Committee officially confirmed that Grigoriy Popov indicted on the same charges of embezzlement during the construction of the stadium “Zenit-arena”, to this end, the Ministry did not mention him among the defendants in the case.
The prosecution Popov, of which the consequence considers as one of the organizers, was charged in the fall of 2016, it elected a measure of restraint not involving deprivation of liberty.
