The head of “Gazprom” Alexei Miller said that the stadium “Central” in St. Petersburg is in poor condition. His words RIA Novosti reported.
“Not a club is a contractor. Surprisingly, of course, the condition of the field is poor, there is really possible to get injured, shoes buried in the turf, the ball bounced on absolutely unpredictable trajectory,” said Miller, noting that the decision to postpone the match of the 29th round between “Zenith” and “Krasnodar” at the stadium “Petrovsky” is correct.
The place of meeting was changed to may 10. The game will take place in the old arena of the St. Petersburg club due to the poor condition of the pitch at the new stadium.
Football arena on Krestovsky island was commissioned in December last year. The construction lasted almost 10 years, the total cost of close to 50 billion rubles. The stadium will host matches of the confederations Cup 2017 and the 2018 FIFA world Cup.
