Anna Netrebko and Theatre named after Natalia Sats has received the International Opera award in London

According to him, Russian Opera today is one of the most important components of a European map of the musical theater. “Opera by modest Mussorgsky, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev, Dmitri Shostakovich do not descend from posters the largest theaters on the continent, and the Russian singers, musicians, conductors and Directors included in the world elite of this art form,” said Nalbandyan.

Nalbandyan also informed that the winners of the award along with a theatre named after Natalia Sats began in 2017, the Lyon Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Stuttgart Opera, London’s national Opera and performers: Anna Netrebko, who received the prize as the best Opera singer, and Laurence Brownlie, was named the best Opera singer of the year.

International Opera award Opera Awards was established in 2012 by the Foundation of The Opera Awards Foundation, entrepreneur-philanthropist Harry Hyman and editor of The Opera Magazine, John Allison as the analogue of “Oscar” in the Opera. The prize is awarded annually for the best world achievements.
This year the award ceremony was held for the fifth time. The winners were selected in 17 categories. A jury composed of known personalities in the world of musical theatre, headed by one of founders of the award are John Allison.
