MOSCOW, may 7 — RIA Novosti. The militants of the terrorist group Islamic state (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) attacked a military base in Northern Iraq where American military advisers, reports Reuters, citing sources in the security forces.
Two suicide bombers detonated explosive devices at the entrance to the base K1 in Kirkuk. Three of the attackers were eliminated by Kurdish Peshmerga troops, who control the surrounding area.
“They were dressed in form, resembling the shape of Kurdish Peshmerga troops, and shaved his beard to look like us,” said one of the soldiers.
The attack killed two Kurdish militias, six more were injured.
Currently, the Iraqi military and the coalition led by the United States carried out an operation to liberate the Iraqi Mosul. In March, government forces announced the complete environment of terrorists in the city and the breakup of their communications with the militants in Syria. Iraqi security forces claimed to have taken control of two thirds of the Western part of the city.
