“The main substantive result is an absolute confirmation of no alternative to the Minsk agreements and the effectiveness of the current modes of implementation”, — said the Senator.
He also noted that Russia and Germany has the same goal “in the fight against terrorism”.
Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Putin and Merkel stated the stalling of the implementation of the Minsk agreements. “Russia and Germany no clear understanding of how to give impetus to Kiev on the implementation of the Minsk agreements” — quoted Peskov TASS.
Before the talks, the Russian leader said he intends to discuss with the Chancellor of Germany on bilateral relations and key international problems, in particular, the situation in the Donbass and Syria. Merkel expected to discuss with Putin the situation in Libya.
The last time Putin and Merkel met in October last year at the summit “channel four” in Berlin. The last visit of German Chancellor to Russia took place on 10 may 2015, said the Agency.
