The Syrian opposition confirmed its participation in the negotiations in Astana. As reported by RIA Novosti, said Deputy foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.
According to the head of the press service of the foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Anuar Janakova, the opposition will be headed by the representative of group “Jaish al-Islam,” Mohammed Alloush.
“All participants of the international meeting on Syria in Astana, including representatives of the armed Syrian opposition, led by Mohammed Allochem, have confirmed their participation,” said Jainakov.
He noted that the heads of delegations of Russia and Turkey will arrive in Astana at night. Already arrived in full force, the delegations of the Syrian government, UN experts, the experts of the countries-guarantors — Russia, Turkey, Iran.
The evening is expected to arrive UN special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.
The Russian delegation at the talks in Astana on may 3-4 will be headed by the special representative of the President Alexander Lavrentiev. On Tuesday, may 2, will meet at the expert level.
Earlier, Russia proposed to establish in Syria a zone of tension reduction, and to place on the contact line of troops from neutral countries.
APR 13, the presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the situation in Syria. The leaders expressed their mutual desire to continue joint work to strengthen the cessation of hostilities, a willingness to further facilitate inter-Syrian negotiation process in Astana and in the Geneva format.
