The head of the Institute of Economics stated “the decline of the Russian Academy of Sciences”
Scientific Director of the Institute of Economics RAS Ruslan Grinberg said about the risk of transformation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the club “happy or sad, curious, not-so-young people, where the next President will be the moderator”. In his opinion, the events of “mark the sunset of wounds”.
“There is a sunset, I think, maybe I’m wrong, of course, maybe I’m a big pessimist, Russian Academy of Sciences, and what has happened, the postponement of elections is only the outer shell is preparing a very serious transformation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as I understand it, the club is happy or sad, curious, not-so-young people, where will be chosen the next President, from my point of view, who will be the moderator of this club,” said Greenberg in a plenary session of the Moscow economic forum.
Now the state Duma is preparing amendments to the law on science, which involve changes to the system of election of the President of the RAS, namely the nomination of several candidates from the General Assembly of the Academy from which to choose for the position will be the President of Russia.
The reform of the RAS held the last years in the Russian Academy of Sciences, is very painful, acknowledged by the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko. “Reform that goes recent years in wounds is painful, has accumulated a lot of problems, accretions,” she said.
Matviyenko noted that “it is necessary to complete this reform, in order to improve the efficiency and the Academy, and academic institutions, and practical benefits for the development of our country.”
