Moscow will not report to NATO about the “Iskander” in Kaliningrad
MOSCOW, 26 Mar — RIA Novosti. Moscow is not going to report to NATO on the question of placing of complexes “Iskander” in Kaliningrad, will not do so at the forthcoming Council NATO-Russia (NRC), said RIA Novosti Director of the European cooperation Department of Russian foreign Ministry Andrey Kelin.
Earlier, Spiegel magazine wrote about that at the forthcoming meeting of the Council Russia — NATO Brussels allegedly demands from Moscow of explanations about transfer of “Iskander” near Kaliningrad.
“No report is not about it speech does not go”, — said Kelin in response to a request to comment on this post. According to the representative of the foreign Ministry, the meeting will exchange views “on the most pressing issues that concern both sides now”.
So, according to him, Russia is concerned about the deployment of rotational battalions for NATO in Poland and the Baltic States, and NATO — doctrine, which holds Russia: “West”, “Caucasus” and maneuvers in Crimea.
“That’s what going to be the conversation: about transparency, exchange opinions and to remove the existing concerns,” said Kelin.
He added that the meeting would be “at the level of permanent representatives and ambassadors.”
NATO has repeatedly stated that concerned about the re-deployment of “Iskander” near Kaliningrad
In Moscow, in response, noted that Russia is doing everything necessary to protect itself against the background of NATO’s expansion towards its borders. The head of the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that, unlike the USA, Moscow places the weapons on its territory.
