The responsible state Duma Committee on legislation plans to submit the decision to the Council of the Duma on 11 April.

Under current law, presidential elections are held on the second Sunday of March. In this package of amendments is a provision stating that if the second Sunday is a combined, post-holiday or a working day in connection with the transfer of holidays, the day of the vote is transferred to the next — that is, the third Sunday of the month.
