Participants of the parliamentary hearings in the state Duma on policy in respect of compatriots, proposed to the Russian government to conduct a full migration Amnesty for the inhabitants of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. It is reported TASS on Monday, March 20.
“Given the humanitarian catastrophe faced by the citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territories of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, to hold for this category of Russian compatriots full immigration Amnesty and to further develop the list of preferences on the territory of Russia”, — stated in the draft recommendations.
The inhabitants of these territories are requested to provide benefits, in particular if registration at the place of residence and employment.
In addition, participants urged to simplify the mechanism for granting political asylum because of “massive persecution of Russian compatriots in Ukraine for political reasons”.
Earlier Monday it was reported that the results of the parliamentary hearings recommended indefinitely to extend the regulation to the law on simplified citizenship for former Soviet citizens who moved to Russia until 2002.
20 March, “Novye Izvestiya” reported that for the holders of passports of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics in Russia are subject to the same migration rules for Ukrainian citizens.
In February, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the recognition of Russia’s documents and license plates of vehicles issued to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territories of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
