Gennady Zyuganov

The party “Communists of Russia” criticized the Chairman of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov for refusing to participate in the rally on the Sparrow hills, on the three year anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. This is stated in the statement of the leader of movement Maxim Suraykin, published on its website on Friday, March 17.

“Shame that the party that call themselves Patriotic, behave like that! The reunification with Crimea, as well as 9 May is a holiday, when you combine all the Russians, when in the same ranks and the centrists, and leftists, and the government and Patriotic opposition”, — said suraykin.

In his opinion, the reluctance of the Communist party to attend the event talking about bring the organization closer to the “Pro-Western forces”.

Earlier on Friday, Zyuganov said his faction is not planning to participate in the festivities on the Sparrow hills, as not willing to show unity with the government. He added that the Communist party planned its own program.

The “Spring festival” on the three year anniversary of the inclusion of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation, will be held on Saturday, March 18, near the building of Moscow state Lomonosov University (MGU) on Sparrow hills.

Crimea became part of Russia following a referendum held on the Peninsula in March 2014. Kiev refused to accept the result of the vote. Moscow insists that the procedure conforms to the norms of international law.
